North Platte, Neb. - The Lincoln County CASA is hosting its Kevin Kennedy 5K Superhero run this Saturday at Iron Horse Park in North Platte. The event starts at 5:00pm and the kids' race will start at 5:45pm. The run was created in honor of longtime Lincoln County CASA member Kevin Kennedy who passed away a few years ago. Kevin Kennedy III joined Derek Beck on Wednesday to talk about his upcoming appearance at historic Fox Theater in North Platte on Friday night as his documentary "On 7" will premier on the Fox big screen. The Documentary will explore Kevin's incredible journey from North Platte to the ends of the Earth as he writes 7 songs on 7 continents in 7 weeks. The show is a amazing 7 part documentary travel series as Kevin travels through the USA, Argentina, Antarctica, Laos, Ethiopia, Serbia, and Australia. It will be an unforgettable night of live music, film, and storytelling.
Doors open at the Fox on Friday night around 6pm with the show starting at 7pm. 15% of the ticket proceeds will be donated to the Lincoln County CASA, and PALS Brewing Company will debut a new beer at the show also.

North Platte, Neb. - The North Platte Ducks Unlimited chapter is getting ready to host a dinner event this Friday at the D&N Event Center in North Platte. Doors for the event will open at 5:00 pm for the social hour with dinner set to begin serving at 6:30pm. Dinner is being served by North 40. Following dinner, attendees can participate in games, raffles will be drawn the live/silent auction willl be going on. Tickets for the event are $40 for a single guest, $60 for a couple, kids 5-17 are $20 and 5 and under get in for free.
The ticket presale is live until Wednesday April 10th and if you miss the presale, tickets will be sold at the door. Presale tickets can be bought from any Ducks Unlimited committee member, go to Knoebels Refrigeration or click here to purchase them online.

North Platte, Neb. - The Mid-Plains United Way recently held their Easter Egg Hunt event back on March 30th at Pals Brewing. The event was a huge success in the kid's egg hunt but also the adult hunt, as over $3,000 was raised. Mid-Plains United Way is also getting ready for Giving Day on May 8th. The organization also recently introduced a monthly donation online from the organization's website if you would like to give a recurring donation.

North Platte, Neb. - NPIce concluded their second year with great successful. NPIce offered public skating, hockey lessons, drop-in hockey, learn to skate and residents and surrounding communities took notice and made the trip out to the rink in North Platte.
NPIce is already looking ahead for the 2023-2024 winter season and has sponsorships and project goals ready to go. A goal project goal that NPIce has been thinking about is adding a cover over the rink. During Feb. we seen a few days where the warm weather caused the ice to melt. NPIce will be a part of Giving Day on May 8th, planning on doing more dine out days and also having a glo ball golf tournament in North Platte.

North Platte, Neb. - The Connection Homeless Shelter in North Platte is preparing a booth at the MPCC fundraiser event going on April 20th. During the event, the organization will be hosting kid friendly activities for kids to play. The homeless shelter is also getting ready to finalize a HUD contract that was created in 2022.

Post News Director Canon Rath chatted with North Platte Mayor Brandon Kelliher as they recapped the April 2nd, North Platte City Council meeting and talked about the important agenda items discussed amongst the council.
NORTH PLATTE - The North Platte city council held a regular meeting on April 2nd and different agendas were discussed amongst the council. Topics included a design build contract for the new skate park, EMS Telehealth program, lease proposal for Pierce Enforcer 107' Aerial Apparatus and so much more.

Hershey, Neb. - The Hershey Volunteer Fire Department is gearing up to host its 7th Annual Spaghetti Feed this Sunday at Hershey High School. The event is scheduled from 11:00am - 2:00pm. It's a free will donation, and the proceeds will be used to purchase a Lucas Device, which provides chest compressions during CPR.
