North Platte, Neb. - The 9th Annual Music on the Bricks hits downtown North Platte Friday, May 17 and Saturday May 18. Friday's show will start at 7:00pm and will last until 10:00pm and Saturday's show starts from 6:00pm and goes on until midnight. There will be food trucks, games, vendors and so much more. Admission is $7 and credit cards will be accepted. There will be a $1 fee if you use a credit card. Kids 12 and under get in for free. Attendees should bring their own lawn chair.

North Platte, Neb. - The Mid-Plains United Way were one of over 80 local non-profits to sign up for this year's North Platte Giving Day. For people who donated to Mid-Plains United Way will be entered to win a pair of tickets to Parker McCollum for this year's NebraskaLand Day concert.
The united way is preparing for an event this June and nearing the end of their 2023-2024 campaign and are making one last push towards their goal.

The North Platte Noon Rotary is teaming up with Gary Super Foods in North Platte where citizens might have the chance to win free groceries. Three names will be drawn for a chance at free groceries. Tickets to enter the drawing at $10 and only 500 tickets were made. The drawing to find the winners will be May 29 at the Noon Rotary Meeting with the event scheduled on June 8th at 3:00pm at the Gary Super Foods location on East 4th Street.

Lincoln County CASA is selling raffles for a Summer Bash Wagon full of goodies and items for all ages to enjoy. Candy, a hammock and even adult beverages for adults to enjoy. The tickets cost $10 and can be purchased at the CASA office or from a CASA board member. The drawing will take place May 22nd on Eagle Radio.

The West Central District Health Department announced a partnership earlier this week with CredibleMind, an online platform to help provide personalized mental health resources and the platform was launched on May 1st. The online platform, which was created in 2018, provides a population-based mental health ecosystem.

The Connection Homeless Shelter two thrift stores are open and underway. As we have entered garage season, any items that are not sold can be donated to one of the thrift stores. Also, the Connection Homeless Shelter has announced it has signed its HUD contract and is in the process of looking for landlords.

Hope - Esperanza along with Community Connections and West Central District Health Department will be hosting a Cinco de Mayo Community Celebration this Sunday from 1:00pm - 6:00pm and the event is taking place Downtown on the Bricks in North Platte and free admission. Games, food trucks, vendors and so much more will be happening during the day.

NORTH PLATTE - 4-H is America's largest youth development program across the United States that helps learn skills that will last a lifetime. The age requirement for 4-H is the ages of 8-18. There are many different categories that 4-H'ers can participate in during their time in the program including the home environment project.
Stefanie Sitourius, a local 4-H'r has been involved with 4-H for around 6 years. Last summer, she earned ribbons at the State Fair in Grand Island for her work on her sign and button flowers. Sitourius talks about how much time and work it takes to create her projects and how she can improve for this year's fair.
