NORTH PLATTE - The North Platte city council held their regular meeting on January 2nd and there were different agenda that was discussed amongst the council. Items include Jim Nisley has been reelected as council president, the new shade structure for Bill Wood Field, annexation of land in the southeast part of North Platte and so much more.

NORTH PLATTE - Renk Seed is a family owned company out of Wisconsin that has dealers all in the midwest. The company may be small, but can compete with the multimarket companies. Matt Graves is the local farmer dealer for the North Platte area while William Jennings is the districts sales manager.

North Platte, Ne - Jailyn Miller a Sutherland 6th grader isn't bugging around, she's won the Purple Rainbow Ribbon at the Nebraska State with her 4H Entomology projects. Miller who resides with her family near Tryon, but attends school in Sutherland stays busy each year in multiple 4H projects, but she stated collecting bugs with her father, and is now winning not only at the local fair, but in Grand Island at the State Fair.
Caitlyn Jacobson, the 4-H Youth Development Extension Educator for Lincoln, Logan and McPerson counties brought Jailyn to the Eagle studios in North Platte and we couldn't have been more thrilled to talk bugs. Enjoy the conversation.

Post News Director chatted with Camon Landry from the Salvation Army and the duo chatted about how the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign is going and upcoming events.
NORTH PLATTE - The Salvation Army is gearing up for the last half of their red kettle campaign as the last day of ringing is December 23rd. During last week's rings, the Habitat for Humanity and the North Platte Rotary Club had match days and both days ended up being a very successful day for the organizations to match. The Salvation Army is looking for immediate volunteers to fill in hours at the kettle locations in North Platte. If you would be interested in volunteering and ringing, click here.

NORTH PLATTE - The Connection Homeless Shelter in North Platte announced on November 16th during the out of the box challenge event that the homeless shelter has applied through NIFA's low-income housing tax credit crane program to help bring an affordable housing unit to North Platte. The design is to bring around 40 units to North Platte. This includes 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom units. If you would like to learn more, check out the podcast above.

Post News Director Canon Rath chatted with Haven Smith, Executive Director from the Mid-Plains United Way and the pair discussed about the upcoming Holiday Cafe fundraiser event the united way is doing at the Holiday Craft Fair and Vendor Show this weekend and ways to help donate.
NORTH PLATTE - The Mid-Plains United Way is providing a Holiday Cafe at the Holiday Craft Fair and Vendor Show that is going on this Saturday and Sunday at the D&N Event Center in North Platte. Instead of a traditional concession stand of nachos, hot dogs, etc, this year, the united way will offer a Holiday Cafe with different breakfast and lunch menu items and beverages. The craft fair and vendor show runs Saturday from 10:00am-4:00pm and Sunday from 10:00am-3:00pm.
The holidays can be a stressful time to donate, Smith talks about how you can take part in the community. Smith also talks about what is the best way of donating to the united way. If you would like to learn more, check out the podcast above.
