North Platte, Neb. - The Connection Homeless Shelter in North Platte is preparing a booth at the MPCC fundraiser event going on April 20th. During the event, the organization will be hosting kid friendly activities for kids to play. The homeless shelter is also getting ready to finalize a HUD contract that was created in 2022.

Post News Director Canon Rath chatted with North Platte Mayor Brandon Kelliher as they recapped the April 2nd, North Platte City Council meeting and talked about the important agenda items discussed amongst the council.
NORTH PLATTE - The North Platte city council held a regular meeting on April 2nd and different agendas were discussed amongst the council. Topics included a design build contract for the new skate park, EMS Telehealth program, lease proposal for Pierce Enforcer 107' Aerial Apparatus and so much more.

Hershey, Neb. - The Hershey Volunteer Fire Department is gearing up to host its 7th Annual Spaghetti Feed this Sunday at Hershey High School. The event is scheduled from 11:00am - 2:00pm. It's a free will donation, and the proceeds will be used to purchase a Lucas Device, which provides chest compressions during CPR.

North Platte, Neb. - April is Childhood Prevention Month and Abuse and Negligent Month and the Lincoln County CASA is hosting a free will donation breakfast this Friday from 9:00am - 11:00am on the second floor at the Praire Arts Center in North Platte. At 9:00am, North Platte Mayor Brandon Kelliher will proclaim April for Child Abuse Prevention Month.

North Platte, Neb. - North Platte Community College's theatre department is getting ready to present "Plan 9 From Outer Space" on April 3rd - 6th at 7:30pm at the McDonald-Belton Theatre on the NPCC South Campus. Admission to the play is $5 per person. College students, faculty and staff will be allowed in for free if they show their ID.

Post News Director Canon Rath chatted with Mid-Plains United Way Executive Director Haven Smith for their weekly conversation but discussed in depth of the 3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt on March 30th at Pals Brewing in North Platte and a look into some of the prizes that can be potential won.

North Platte, Neb. - North Platte Jaycees and Viaero are excited to co-host the 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday beginning at 2:00pm CT. The event is free to participate and it is asked that kids bring their own baskets to the hunt. There will be four different age groups of kids that will go during the hunt. After the hunt is over, prizes will be raffled. It is asked that you show up around 1:30pm to get registered for the event.
