In this episode, Eagle's Derek Beck spoke with North Platte cancer survivor Jo Morphew about what she went through when she was diagnosed, and preventative things to do as an older woman.

The NPCC Student Life Department is hosting a trunk-or-treat public event on Oct. 28th from 5:00pm - 7:00pm in the northeast parking lot under the pavilion. Many clubs and athletic teams will be participate in the event. Kids are encouraged to dress up in their costumes.

Topics included another discussion on the airport authority for an additional 3.5% tax levy, improvement fund grant, sign the contract for Paviing District No. 837 and more,

North Platte, Neb. - The 22nd Annual G.R.E.E.N fundraising event for the North Platte Catholic Schools is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 26th at the St. Patrick High School. The event raises funds that can be used for NPCS throughout the school year. This year's event features a nice meal, cash bar, games and more. Tickets are $100 to attend.

North Platte, Neb. - Community members will gather on Wednesday, Oct. 23rd at Venue 304 in North Platte to hear the finalists' pitches for this year's Big Idea North Platte. Changes have been made for this year's program which has the contestants meet with Indvidual's to chat about their product. Voting/judging has been changed for this year's event as well.
Contestants in the community category are competing for prizes. 1st place is $10,000, 2nd place is 5,000, and 3rd place is $2,500. The youth category is competing for scholarships to Mid-Plains Community College and the prizes are 1st place is $2,500, 2nd place is $1,500, and 3rd place is $1,000.

North Platte, Neb. - While it may be the month of October, the holiday season is quickly approaching, and the Salvation Army is preparing for the upcoming season. The Red Kettles will be out and about in North Platte in November with the toy drive, Thanksgiving/Christmas dinners and more.

North Platte, Neb. - The 29th FNBO Chili Cook-Off to kick off the 2024-2025 Mid-Plains United Way campaign year was a huge success raising nearly $5000. The weather was perfect, and guests got to enjoy around 20 different booths of chili. Attendees voted for the best booth, best chili and voted for who got pied in the face.
Tonight, the Mid-Plains United Way is hosting a fundraiser event at Raisin Canes in North Platte from 5:00pm-9:00pm. When ordering, make sure to let Canes know you are there for the Mid-Plains United Way fundraiser and 15% of sales will go towards the united way.

Paxton, Ne – If you’ve driven through the small town of Paxton in Keith County this summer, you may have noticed multiple seed corn signs south of Highway 30 on the west side of town south of town. That ground near the Paxton Schools Bus Barn is owned by the Paxton Consolidated School District and used to be farmed by local farmers in the area…until last year. The POST spoke with Paxton Consolidated Schools Industrial Arts Teacher Corey Turner and Sophomore Landon Drews in a sit down recently.
