Ogallala Girls upset #4 Gothenburg 65-63 on the road (Feb 11, 2025)

Gothenburg, Ne - The Ogallala girls basketball team coming off two losses last week against McCook and Broken Bow went to #4 Gothenburg on a snowy Tuesday night and upset the Swedes 65-63. The Indians led 16-2 in the first quarter before Gothenburg scored 18 points in a row and took a 20-16 lead early in the second quarter. 

Gothenburg would lead at halftime 30-24 and led 47-41 heading into the fourth quarter. Ogallala Sophmore Shadyn Rasby would score 12 of her 15 points in the fourth quarter along with a huge game by Junior Laney Caskey who scored a season high 24 points in the game. Ogallala took the lead with 3:59 to go in the game to win 65-63. 

Gothenburg lost for just the third time this year, Ogallala goes to 14-8 and hosts Maywood-Hayes Center on Thursday night in Ogallala.

Ogallala, Ne - The 42nd Annual Oregon Trail Builders Home Ag & Sports is next week at the Keith County Fairgrounds on February 22 and 23. There will be vendors each day, a lego contest for kids and food trucks both days. Chairman of the Oregon Trail Builders Association Brody Cleveland spoke on Sandhills Spotlight with Derek Beck this week about the two-day event in Ogallala.

Ogallala, Ne - Mid Plains Community College's Ogallala Campus continues their Progressive Business Groups workshop on Thursday, February 20th. The workshops are co-sponsored by the Keith County Area Development. The next workshop will be presented by JNW Consulting's Jamie Weingart. The Ogallala boys stay unbeaten after a 65-63 win over Cozad. The Indians didn't lead until .05 seconds to go in game when Sawyer Smith passed to an open Edan Cain for a 2 point buzzer beater. Game heard on Flatrock 100.7 FM with Derek Beck.

North Platte Post 

North Platte, Neb. - A local fan favorite event is back in North Platte on February 7th when the NP Business & Professional Women host the Wine and Brew Event. The event is taking place at Venue 304 and doors open at 6:00pm with the event starting at 6:30pm. Tickets are limited at the door, so purchase your tickets online by clicking here.  

Different local brewers will be on site and guests can try all the different wines and brews brought to the event. There will also be a silent auction that has lots of great items to bid on.
