Canon Rath talked with Tayton Lucas, Josie Wilson, and Coy Corfield about the Lincoln County Fair Livestock sale and also talked with the group about their own involvement in 4-H.
NORTH PLATTE, NEB - The Lincoln County Fair has slowly come to in end in North Platte but the 4-H participants geared up for the Lincoln County Livestock sale going on July 31st. This livestock sale is not like your typically livestock sale you may encounter. "It's a premium only auction so no livestock will actually be offered for sale," said Tayton Lucas. "The kids can bring there animals into the ring but whatever the amount is goes straight to the kids."
The complimentary buyers lunch was held from 11:30 am - 1pm with the sale beginning at 1pm. If you would like to learn more about the event but also these individuals involvements with 4-H, check out the podcast above.

Canon Rath talked with Lorena Beckius about the Ogallala Community School Supply Drive that is going on till August 7th.
OGALLALA, NEB - The community of Ogallala is doing a community wide school supply drive. These donations can help local students be prepared for the upcoming school year. The supplies can be pretty much school related like notebooks, folders, backpacks are just a few examples. It has been asked not to bring pencils or crayons since there is a good amount donated, however they won't turn them away if you wish to donate some. You can take your supplies to the yellow bus at Wolf Auto in Ogallala.

Canon Rath talked with Chelsey Myers about the upcoming Nebraska's Biggest Little Rodeo Logan County Fair and Rodeo in Stapleton. The two talked about 4-H and highlighted a few activities to enjoy.
NORTH PLATTE, NEB - Nebraska's Biggest Little Rodeo Logan County Fair and Rodeo is approaching fast. The fair begins Saturday with different events for everyone in the family to enjoy. Also, the 4-H events will begin July 30th and will run through Saturday August 5th.
While there are plenty of events to do throughout the week, a new event is coming to this year's fair. On Friday, August 4th, Mini Barrel Race and Mini Bucking Bulls will be introduced for the first time. To participate in the Mini Barrel Race, you have to be 10 and under and to participate in Mini Bucking Bulls it's for ages 8-13. Check the flyer below for more information on the new event. The rodeo will kick off Saturday.

Canon Rath talked with Lorena Beckius about a special presentation going on tonight in Ogallala about Human Trafficking and how folks can be more educated and be aware of human trafficking.
NORTH PLATTE, NEB - The city of Ogallala is holding a special presentation tonight at Memorial Park right by the tennis courts about human trafficking. The event is set to start at 6pm mountain time and will last tell 7:30pm mountain time. The guest speaker will be Nebraska State Trooper Tim Flick.
When the event starts at 6pm, there will be a freedom walk. Once the freedom walk is completed, there will be free hot dogs and that is when Trooper Tim Flick will start the presentation. If you would like to learn more in-depth about the event, check out the podcast above.

Canon Rath talked with the president of the Maxwell Wildcats Booster Club Marshall Robinson about the upcoming 4-man scramble at Lake Maloney.
NORTH PLATTE, NEB - Summer time is always that time of year to get out and enjoy the outdoors. It's also a good time to get a golf tournament rolling. The 9th annual Maxwell Wildcats Booster Club 4-person scramble is scheduled for August 5th at Lake Maloney golf course in North Platte.
The booster club has made it known that the money raised will not only be used for sports but used for all activities and to help purchase a new mascot costume. Some of the money is also set aside for a scholarship. "Maxwell Booster club is in charge of raising money all year long to help the school with certain items," said Maxwell Booster Club President Marshall Robinson.
The 4-person golf scramble fundraiser event to help raise money for different activities at Maxwell Public Schools is scheduled to take place on August 5th at Lake Maloney Golf Course. The event is open to anyone who wants to sign up and play in it. It cost $280 per team includes lunch and hole prizes. To sign up you can go to Lake Maloney or call the club house at 308-532-9998 or can you call Maxwell Public Schools at 308-582-4585 and ask for Dani.

Canon Rath talked with Coy Corfield about the upcoming Livestock Sale on Monday, July 31st. The two also talked more in depth on what Coy does for 4-h
NORTH PLATTE, NEB - The Lincoln County Fair is officially here. The festival events began today while the 4-H events began on Monday. The livestock sale is Monday at 1pm. It is also a premium sale which means no livestock will be sold at the event. There is a complimentary buyer lunch from 11:30am - 1pm.
Coy has been doing 4-H for 4 years now. He also shows multiple animals for 4-H as he shows off horses, goats, and cows. 4-H is also another good experience for Corfield since he has made many friends. He has also taken some good life lessons from 4-H. "I've learned that you want to work hard and if you want to win grand champion, you have to work hard with your steers," said Coy Corfield.
