The Mid-Plains United Way will be hosting the Blue Sky Invitational on August 26th at Dismal River Club in Mullen. The United Way is kicking off their work place campaign on Monday.

North Platte, Neb. - The National Avocado Launching National Championships return to North Platte on September 14 at Pals Brewing Company. Registration is still open until August 29th. To register for the event, click here. During the championships, the Western Nebraska Craft Beer Festival will be taking place at Pals.

Hershey, Neb. - The community of Hershey is gearing up for the 2024 Hershey Fall Festival that'll run from August 23rd - August 25th with returning and new events for everyone to enjoy. This year concert will feature up and coming country artist Colin Stough and opening the show will be local talents BJ Jamison and the Drew Phillips band. North Platte, Neb. - Grab the lawn chairs and gear up for the 10th Annual Music on the Bricks event which is taking place Friday and Saturday in the Canteen District. Friday event will run from 7:00pm - 10:00pm and will feature Bases Loaded. On Saturday, the event will start at 6:00pm and will last until midnight. Saturday's show features the James Burke Trio, tunes from Jim Calhoun, Barb and Brenda and finally Platinum Pearls will end the nights.
Admission is $7 per person and children 12 and under are free. However, if using a credit card, a $1 processing fee will be added so it will be $8. Reminder to bring a lawn chair as seating is very limited.

North Platte, Neb. - The North Platte city council held a regular meeting on June 18th and different agendas were discussed amongst the council. Topics included adopt a resolution to approve a MicroTIF project, numerous Ordinance readings, public hearing topics and so much more.

North Platte, Neb. - The North Platte High School Skills USA chapter is gearing up to present the 2nd Annual Cars & Crafts Show on Aug. 31st at the North Platte High School parking lot. The craft fair will run from 8:00am - 4:00pm and the car show runs from 8:00am - 3:00pm with awards at 2:30pm.
General admission for the event is canned food items or a free will donation to the NPHS Food Pantry. There is still time to sign up for your car for the show or be a vendor for the event. Click here to learn more on how to sign up. Lunch will be available during the event.
